Clean Gutters Make for Healthy Roofing Systems
December 15, 2014
- Regular gutter maintenance reduces building repair costs.
When was the last time you thought about your building gutters or roof drains? When they overflowed in the last heavy rain? When they leaked by the entrances to your building? Regular maintenance of your building’s gutter and roof drain systems will save you headaches and repair costs due to water damage. Several times a year your building’s gutters and downspouts should be cleaned and flushed clear of leaves and other debris. Gutters filled with debris put a tremendous strain on the gutter hanger system, causing damage to that system and the building roof edge. A regular cleaning program should be implemented to stay on top of this often forgotten component of every building. Remember that this work should only be attempted by personnel comfortable working at the roof heights. Workers should have proper fall protection training and equipment, and use the proper ladders or man lifts. Munger Construction can be called upon for this valuable service, in addition to performing repairs with our qualified and trained staff, should the need arise.
