Munger Construction was honored as the William J. May III Service Above Self Award recipient and recognized as House of Heroes Connecticut’s 2024 Craftsmen of the Year at their Annual Fundraising Gala on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025.
On June 22, 2024, Munger employees — Joe Egersheim, John DeSarbo, Rick Gallo, James DeMaio, and David DeMaio—joined forces to reconstruct a safe and secure stairway for E3 Kenneth Strickland, a disabled U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He had been in danger of losing his homeowner’s insurance due to the hazardous condition of his exterior staircase, which also made attending life-saving treatments nearly impossible.
This project brought together a passionate group of volunteers from House of Heroes CT, The Inspired Kitchen, Team Rubicon, and PCX Aerosystems.
Munger Construction received a Certificate of Special Recognition from U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal for our efforts.
This honor aligns perfectly with our Core Values — ‘Do the Right Thing – ALWAYS’ and ‘It’s Not Just Business – It’s People’.
Thank you to Karen DelVecchio who spearheaded the effort for Munger employees!
