Thermo Fisher Scientific- Renovation / Interior Fit-Up
November 18, 2015
Thermo Fisher Scientific specialize in innovative, analytical instruments, lab equipment and special diagnostics that provide rapid and accurate results for customers in research, clinical, and applied markets. During a growth mode they seized the opportunity to take over available space located at 246 Goose Lane, in Guilford.
The interior fit-out and renovation plan began with select removal of existing partitions, ceilings, flooring, electrical, plumbing and HVAC supply ducts. The plan combined both the east and west sides of the north quadrant of the building by eliminating the common hallway. Major features of the expanded space include a machine shop, electrical room, IDF room, engineering storage, conference room, chemistry lab and general open bench/cubical space for developmental instruments, instrument repair and engineering. The existing IT Room was expanded into the adjacent machine shop and tied in with ceilings, flooring and painting.
The carpentry and finish work included metal framing, sheetrocking/taping, sound insulation, and new doors. Mechanicals included HVAC, electrical, and minor plumbing work. New white ceiling grid with white vinyl surfaced, clean room ceiling pads, and VCT tile flooring incorporating Thermo Fisher’s signature color block design, significantly brightened up office and work areas.
