    Case Study

    The Situation

Munger Construction collaborated with Brown’s Boatyard to design and build a 1,925-square-foot Varco Pruden steel building. The objective was to enhance their ability to service boats year-round, the owners of Brown’s Boatyard sought an enclosed, heated service building capable of accommodating large vessels.

    Problem

    The Challenges

    1

The structure needed to provide ample space for winter repairs.

    2

They also needed safe access to higher points on the boats.

    Solution

    The Resolutions

    1

High Ceilings: The building stands 29 feet tall, allowing large boats to be serviced entirely indoors.

    2

Oversized Overhead Doors: Two 24 x 24-foot overhead doors provide high clearance for easy entry and exit of larger vessels.

    3

Interior Mezzanine: A high-elevation mezzanine was incorporated into the design, providing safe and efficient access to elevated areas of boats during repairs.

    4

Ventilation Systems: Specialized exhaust and vent systems were installed to ensure a safe working environment by removing potentially harmful chemicals commonly used in boat maintenance.

    Outcome

    the final product

The new enclosed, heated service building enables Brown’s Boatyard to work on boats more effectively throughout the winter, improving overall operational efficiency. With this addition, the marina can continue its legacy of exceptional service while meeting the evolving needs of its clients. Munger Construction is proud to support Brown’s Boatyard in modernizing their facilities and enhancing their capabilities for the future.
