Brown’s Boatyard – New Construction

Located at 348 Chaffinch Island Road in Guilford, Brown’s Boatyard has offered full marina services to the local area since the 1940s.

A mezzanine was included in the design for easier access to higher points on vessels

The owners decided that an enclosed, heated service building would allow them to work on boats more effectively throughout the winter. They came to Munger with the need for a enclosed structure that could be heated and have the ability to fit large boats entirely inside the building. 

Munger worked to develop a 1,925 SF, Varco Pruden steel structure that includes a high elevation mezzanine. With a building height of 29 ft. and an overhead door clearance of 24 feet, large boats are able to fit inside the structure for winter repairs. Additionally, the high elevation mezzanine allows for easy and safe access to high points on boats. Considerable exhaust/vent systems were installed to keep the area safe of potentially harmful chemicals that are often used in boat repairs.
