Atlantic Outboard – New Construction

Atlantic Outboard, located at 475 Boston Post Road in Westbrook, CT, has been a trusted provider of fishing boats, cruising boats, and marine services for over 30 years. As their operations expanded, they required a modern service facility to support their growing needs and deliver top-notch service to their customers.

Project Objective:
The objective was to construct a 4,000 SF Varco Pruden, steel structure building to serve as a new service shop. This facility needed to integrate with the existing property, include specialized features like large bay doors and a runway crane system, and improve workflow efficiency for handling marine engines and equipment.

The Solution:
Munger Construction provided a comprehensive design-build solution tailored to Atlantic Outboard’s needs:

1. Site Preparation: Conducted site work and installed new drainage systems to ensure proper support for the structure.
2. Foundation & Steel Erection: Poured footings and the foundation before erecting the pre-engineered Varco Pruden steel building.
3. Custom Features: Installed three large bay doors and a runway crane system to facilitate the movement of marine engines and equipment.
4. Seamless Integration: Connected the new facility to the existing structure, ensuring cohesive functionality.
