Case Study
The Situation
This project is a retail expansion project for Agway Bethel, 74 South St., Bethel.
Problem
The Challenges
1
The project began with an unfinished, un-insulated warehouse space that required extensive modifications to meet functional and operational needs. The space lacked proper insulation, access points for equipment like forklifts, and essential infrastructure such as heating, lighting, and finished flooring. Additionally, the existing mezzanine and sprinkler system posed obstacles to creating an efficient layout for truck unloading and product display.
Solution
The Resolutions
1
Munger transformed the space by removing the mezzanine, insulating and sheet rocking the interior, and installing new overhead doors along with a forklift access door. A concrete ramp was poured to create a protected alleyway for safe and efficient truck unloading. The existing asphalt floor was preserved, with the subfloor patched and finished with new VCT tile. The heating system was extended into the new area, while new acoustical ceiling tiles, lighting, shelving, and modular display units were added to create a fully functional and professional environment.
Outcome
the final product
The finished project created functional, comfortable, much needed expansion space for Agway Bethel’s retail area.
