Shoreline Chamber Of Commerce Recognizes Munger Construction As Employer Of The Year

Published on: Friday, February 24th, 2023

On Tuesday, February 24th, 2023, Shoreline Chamber of Commerce recognized Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc. as Employer of the Year at their Annual Meeting and Award Breakfast Ceremony.  Munger Construction was honored to receive this award alongside local shoreline businesses and individuals that make a positive difference in our community.

Munger Construction’s leadership strives to “Build the Best and Be the Best” in every facet of the business, including supporting each of the 74 employees.  That dedication began in 1968 under the direction of Phillip (Pat) Munger himself and has continued with David DeMaio throughout the past 30 years. “This award would not be possible without our employees and we look forward to serving Connecticut in 2023 and beyond.” Munger President, David Demaio, stated.

Understanding the importance of community engagement, Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc., has been a member of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce for many years.   Munger Construction also understands the importance of supporting the community at large and has been collecting food for the Guilford Food Bank and other community organizations for the last 20 years. For many years, Munger employees volunteered to collect food at the Walmart in Guilford promoting “Fill the Truck” for holiday food baskets for families in need. Because of COVID, that shifted to collecting donations via gift cards to Big Y and providing them to Guilford Social Services for distribution.  In addition to the holiday efforts, Munger Construction collects non-perishable food items from employees all year round and donates them to food banks throughout CT.

Munger Construction also encourages all employees to volunteer and be involved in their community. The towns of Branford, North Branford, and Guilford benefit from that as many of Munger’s employees live in those towns.   Involvement includes serving on town committees, volunteering, and supporting local non-profits.  In addition to volunteer efforts, Munger employees shop small and support local businesses.

Robust construction services enable Munger Construction to assist commercial businesses with all of their construction needs.  Munger Construction’s services help businesses expand and grow jobs locally. Many Munger customers are part of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, including Bishops Orchards, Van Wilgen’s Garden Center, Premier Subaru, American Polyfilm, Country Paint & Hardware, and SARAH, Inc.
