Munger Construction collaborated with Stew Leonard’s to create a 6,400-square-foot aquatics facility, Stewie the Duck Swim School, at 55 Westport Avenue. Munger Construction was entrusted with the task of outfitting the space to meet the rigorous safety standards required for swim lessons.
The renovation involved installing a pool tailored to meet safety and functional requirements. Additionally, Munger Construction worked on integrating themed changing areas and observation spaces for parents to enhance the overall experience for families.
A notable aspect of the project was Munger Construction’s commitment to community impact. By creating a space for children to learn water safety skills, the project contributed to the mission of “saving lives, one lesson at a time.” Furthermore, proceeds from the swim school were donated to the Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation to fund swimming lessons for children in need.
The opening of the swim school marked a significant milestone for Stew Leonard Jr. and his wife, Kim, as it fulfilled their dream of providing swim lessons to children. Thanks to the partnership between Munger Construction and Stew Leonard’s, the community now has access to essential water safety education for children.
